Timeless pewter with an exceptional history, starting with the handcrafted detail and origin of the maker and materials. This antique double pour gravy boat with handle has the crown and rose mark that is one of the earliest of the pewter marks dating to the early 1600s. The early pewter items with this mark were made in the vicinity of the Rhine River. The handcrafted detail is evident in the seams on the inside around the bottom to form the shape and crafting of the item. There are also seams to the skirting around the bottom and the handmade snug rivets for the handles which have a beautiful victorian design on each side where the handle attaches to the bowl. The original stickers tell that this antique pewter gravy boat was sold as a souvenir item around 1955 to help with the GDP for the Salzburg area becoming greater in GDP than most european countries. Measurements of this item are 7 1/2 inches tall with the handle up 6 inches tall with it down and 4 inches wide. Some signs of age but overall very good condition. This piece of antique pewter is an exceptional addition to a rare antique pewter collection.
