Listed for you here is a lovely casserole with an exceptional design from award-winning George Briard 1917 - 2005. In 2004 he received the Frank S. Child Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the glass and ceramic decorating industry. George Briard was the master of elegance in kitchen glassware, with 22 karat gold and beautiful artful decoration. Born in Ukraine and raised in Poland as Jakub Brojdo, changed his name to Jascha Brojdo. He had an exceptional drive to attend the Chicago Art Institute in 1937, and after serving in the U.S. Army through World War II. He moved to New York and was hired and partnered with his friend Max Wille, to create lovely designs on glassware for his company M. Wille who came up with the name George Briard to mark commercial pieces at high-end department stores. This 2 qt. casserole is an excellent example of the elegance displayed in his works, turning simple kitchenware into designer elegance. This casserole dish with lid has a lovely 22 karat gold design with geometric artwork inside of gold circles. The casserole dish with lid also has a metal serving frame. Measurements of the casserole dish are 6" high with the bottom 3" deep and 8 3/4" wide or 10 1/2" wide handle to handle. Ideal serving dish to carry out to friend or family functions.
