Large Majolica Jackfield Staffordshire pitcher brown with exceptional blue band of floral with gold specks and gold beaded trim, hinged pewter lid with finial in excellent condition covers the top. Very nice twisted handle in excellent condition adds interest. Hallmarked only with 900. Research found others with similar patterns from Staffordshire England circa 1860. Does not appear to have any use. May have been a wedding gift. This type of pitcher was used mostly for hot milk. No chips or cracks and the painting is in excellent condition. Beautiful. Measurements are 8 inches tall 4 1/4 inches at bottom and 5 1/2" from spout to handle. The excellent antique Jackfield Staffordshire pitcher of this particular kind is perfect for display. Ideal for an avid collector.
